Could use a bit of polish but gets the job done
Id like to see some features added to clean up the interface a little. Things like Origin and Destination labels (so instead of having a long address stream off the edge of the screen, it could just say "Home" - and on this point, the ability to properly input addresses instead of just a line of unparsed text would be nice so I can sort by city or postal code on the exported reports), an option to import addresses for Origin and Destination from Calendar or Contacts, and maybe the ability to create a "return trip" entry for an entry I just entered (which would essentially reverse the Origin and Destination entries and prompt me to put in the updated odometer readings).
I also wouldnt complain about a bit of a graphical interface update. The blocky white on green look is awfully out of date. A cleaner iOS 7/8 interface with updated fonts and colours would make this app much more enjoyable to use.
I love that theres an option to add "expenses" to a trip so I can account for parking and bridge tolls. This is a feature lacking in most other mileage apps and a major reason I use this one though the way it generates as a separate line on reports is a little weird.
One thing that prevents me from being able to use the Type/Rate feature is that in Canada were provided a mileage deduction at one rate on the first 5000kms then the rate changes after that. Because the Type/Rate function is attached to the Business in this app theres no easy way to modify this calculation on the fly so I have to do the math manually when I export the report.
Oh! Speaking of reports. Why doesnt this app employ the share sheet to let me export my reports to other apps on my iPhone? Having to email the report to myself then use Mail to open and export the document is so 2010. Honestly, if you gave the app a cosmetic facelift and added "Open in..." Id give another star. Just for these 2 things.
